There are different versions of Bluetooth. The Bluetooth 4.1 was released in 2013. This version offers more efficient data rate transfer compared to BT 4.0.

Later in 2014, another version of BT was released, called the BT 4.2. This version was designed for the Internet of Things (IoT). With this feature, the data rate faster improved significantly and reduced power consumption.
